about

Victor Vendetta (in 2006) -

This album has been a real labour of love for me. Over the past 12 months I’ve been re-visiting, re-recording, re-mastering and of course totally re-volting songs I wrote between 1977 & 1980 for my band Psykik Volts. We only existed for a year but had so much more to say after our 1979 single ‘Horror Stories No.5/Totally Useless’ got us noticed by such luminaries as the late great John Peel. ‘Wooden Heart’ (about Andy Pandy & Looby Loo) on this album got us a deal with Graduate Records, but nothing was released and the band began to fall apart.

Now, thanks to Ian at Damaged Goods and the faith & support of my lovely wife Suzanne, I get a chance to share this work with you, the listener. And there’s plenty more where these came from, so keep an eye out for ‘Even More Re-Volting’ in the future.

Let’s hope it doesn’t take another 27 years though this time!

P.S. ‘From a Lover…’ was recorded in 1997 and doesn’t really have that much to do with Psykik Volts, but give it a listen anyway. You never know – you might just like it!
